In this rewarding position, you’ll be responsible for the mental and physical welfare of our breeding stock and puppies. Your day-to-day activities will involve essential husbandry duties that ensure our dogs thrive in a supportive environment.
You’ll work closely with a dedicated team at our National Centre in Leamington Spa, making a tangible impact on the wellbeing of our dogs and the people they assist.

For this role you’ll be working 35 hours per week on a rolling two-week rota, this includes evenings/overnight shifts, bank holidays and alternate weekends.

Candidate profile
To excel in this role, we’re seeking candidates with a passion for animal care and the following skills and experience:
Essential Requirements:
• Qualification in animal care, training/behaviour, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including handling puppies and large dogs (over 24kgs).
• Capability to travel as needed; if lacking a full valid UK Driving License, you should demonstrate alternative travel arrangements.
• Experience working in a kennel environment, whether paid or voluntary.
• Strong decision-making skills and independence in directing others based on your knowledge and experience.
• Resourcefulness in problem-solving during non-routine situations.
• Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Desirable Requirements:
• Experience in coaching and mentoring.
• Familiarity with working with volunteers.
• Knowledge of canine reproduction principles and early puppy development.
• Understanding of the behavioural and physical changes in breeding dogs.
