About the role
We are looking for two experienced HR professionals to join our People Team on a permanent and 12-month FTC basis. These are full-time roles, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work in a way that is best for you, with at least 2 days a week attending your nearest Guide Dogs office, including travel to other Guide Dogs sites across the UK as required for the role.
The ideal individuals will have proven exposure to aligning HR strategies and interventions with overall organisational strategy and supporting effective implementation of organisational change (including consultation) and project implementation. It is a really exciting time to join our People Team, and this role brings scope to put in place a range of initiatives that will make a huge difference to the Guide Dogs workforce.
As a HR Support Manager, you’ll get the opportunity to:
- Support managers with the delivery of their people plans under the direction of the Strategic HR Business Partner to provide wrap around support for managers to help equip them for their roles.
- Build and maintain influential, collaborative, and trusted relationships with managers. This involves coaching and mentoring managers to develop solutions to issues, ensuring decision making is in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
- Maintain an overview of all resourcing activity, headcount, establishment, and vacancy data within a designated directorate, supporting with the development and delivery of regular reporting, to inform and influence HR interventions and solutions that drive continuous improvement.
Candidate profile
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Effective delivery in an HR environment.
- A wide breadth of HR and development knowledge including change management, recruitment, employee relations and performance management.
- Ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships with line managers and senior managers.
- Diagnostic and advisory skills: the ability to analyse a problem/situation, think creatively and advise on a range of options knowing when to escalate or sign post to others.
- Curiosity about data; the ability to analyse, collate, interpret, and present people data.
