The Technical Learning Specialist (TLS) helps those with sight loss to live the life they choose by providing the pivotal role of training our Guide Dog Trainers and Guide Dog Mobility Specialists of the future.

Location: Forfar

Salary: GDMS Salary + 10% up to an additional £3,500. Or approximately £34,000 +10%.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 9-5pm. 35 hours per week.

Start Date: You must be available to start the role by the end of October 2024.

 

You will use a blended learning approach to train your learners with a mixture of classroom and practical lessons. And you'll be supported in doing this by our learning experience platform 'Guide Dogs Learning' as well from our highly experienced, collaborative wider Academy Team who will also help you further your own professional and technical expertise.

To be able to fulfil this role, the skills and experience we are looking for in a potential candidate include:

 

Essential

·      Guide Dog Mobility Specialist qualified (including active practice within the last 5 years).

·      Able to demonstrate ability to meet the physical demands of the role including walking long distances daily (in excess of 8-10 miles) in all weather conditions, and the potential to handle a range of dog sizes and temperaments.

·      Current valid UK/EU Driving licence, or able to demonstrate how to complete the role without.
